Processing Final Project: Ideas and Notes, catching up.

Being gone for almost a week has set me behind a little but that just means I need to work harder. NCECA was great and very informative, I also picked up a bunch of nice new tools.

On to the project notes. My artist presentation on Paul Catanese has lead me in the direction of found object and sound integration with my piece. I would like for it to be a journey of sorts, that allows the user/viewer to interact with these objects along the way. Consider it a digital Walk-a-bout or spirit journey. My latest readings have been based around the ideas of ancient Gods, like Pagan, Norse, Aboriginal, Native American and so on. The way Gods are transplanted to new lands through the beliefs of traveling peoples is one of my more recently revived interests.
My plan is to incorporate sounds, video, and images, all found around the internets, to create this journey through our digital world.

New tools, woooooooooo

Final project thoughts

After revisting my original idea for the final project, I have decided to scrap it and go in a different direction.
My new plan is to create a sort of virtual Operation. The plan is to have the person interacting put on a pair of
red gloves, for tracking purposes, and step into the video frame. The program would have a background image or video
running that the viewer could then interact with. The red gloves would allow for tracking to determine when they are
interacting with a certain object in the field. If the constrains of the object are broken, a sound will play which
will then trigger a cataclysmic collapse of order within the piece and hopefully push the viewer into a world of despair?
This could very well evolve into my initial concept of the destructiveness of humans or not. No one knows where this will
take me.
